A Letter from Kevin & Autumn

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us! We know firsthand the power of adoption as Autumn herself was adopted. Since the beginning of our relationship, we knew we wanted adoption to be part of our family.

We look forward to getting to know you and keeping in touch with you to show you how your child is blooming into a wonderful being.

About Us

We’ve been together for 10 years now and enjoy adventures that build character and introduce us to different cultures and people. We both grew up with a strong Christian faith and loving families supporting us. Our family and friends are the most important part of our lives and we love being around them.

If we had to describe ourselves as a couple, we’re the “go to” fun loving couple. Autumn is the social butterfly and works to be a good host, while Kevin is the kidder and backyard barbecue king. We enjoy cooking, going to the gym, attending festivals, appreciating the great outdoors and going on small weekend trips together. We look forward to sharing our love for life with your child.

About Kevin by Autumn

Kevin is a true Gentleman with a tender heart of gold. He stops to offer help anytime anyone needs help, has a heart for stray animals, opens doors for others, holds my hand when shopping around town, and is so open and kind that he has never met a stranger.

Kevin enjoys anything that has to do with being outside. Everything from working on his grill and smokers to fixing up his old white Chevy truck and working in his vegetable garden.

I know he is a great and loving father. He will strive to teach your child responsibility and how to be the best they can possibly be.

About Autumn from Kevin

My wife Autumn loves family, friends, her coworkers, and her employees. She finds the good in everyone and everything. Caring for others just comes naturally to her and she loves life.

Autumn has a green thumb and is simply amazing when it comes to working with flowers. She has turned the backyard into an oasis of its own! She enjoys volunteering at a local ‘no kill’ shelter, hosting Sunday brunch for friends and family, and absolutely loves making plans for our next grand adventure.

She’s a wonderful mother and role model to my children and was made for motherhood. She’s self-driven, enthusiastic, hardworking and caring and I know she will pass those wonderful traits on to your child as they grow.

Our Home in Texas and Pets

We live in a suburban area, close to family. Our home is a 1 ½ story with 3 bedrooms, living room, breakfast area, formal dining room, a game room upstairs, and a pool. We have high ceilings for an open & inviting feeling, lots of light and are told that we have a very warm & inviting home. Our home is artistic, full of life, energy & song. Sunday mornings you will see Autumn in the kitchen cooking breakfast listening to her favorite “Acoustic Sunrise” radio show.

We have 3 cats, Marbles, Midnight and our kind older lady of the house, Tasha.

Our Family and Traditions

Autumn’s father adopted her and it was the best thing that ever happened to her. It is from her adoption that we knew right away that we wanted adoption to be part of our own family. We know firsthand that unconditional love is not based on blood and are looking forward to raising a child together.

Kevin has 2 children from a previous marriage, Kyler who is 20 and Kaylee who is 17. From the very beginning, each of them gained a special connection with Autumn and she has been an amazing mother and friend to them. While Kaylee still lives with her biological mom and Kyler is off to college, both of them are looking forward to having a new little brother or sister!

Kevin’s family is only a few hours away and we travel to see them or they come to stay with us about 5-6 times a year. We are all very close and look forward to our traditional get-togethers.

Our Promise

We promise to provide a safe and loving home and we will show your child what unconditional love means. We will teach them how important family, friends, God and education is to their success in life. We will believe in your child. Whether it’s supporting him or her in their dreams or to be their best self, we will always be there to support and cheer them on. We look forward to hearing from you soon and sharing pictures, letters, and visits with you.

Some of Kevin & Autumn's Favorites
What is your favorite family holiday & why?Halloween. We decorate the house, put on scary music and get dressed up to hand out candy. The entire subdivision comes out & my brother and his family come down to visit because our neighborhood celebrates Halloween and decorates outside just as much as they do for Christmas.Christmas! We always have a family get together and have way too much food. Even though I'm cooking most of the time, it's so much fun to see the kids in our family get excited to open presents, say prayers at dinner and talk about Santa coming. I still act like Santa is coming for my teenagers and secretly love it every year!
What was our most fun vacation and why?Crested Butte Colorado. I was able to ski, see snow, stay in an actual cabin in the mountains & ride a snow mobile.Dominican Republic for one of our anniversaries. The people were so nice and it was an island that I'd never been to before. We rode a dune buggy and even though he splattered mud on me on purpose, it was so much fun to hand candy out to the local children as we drove by the towns. Also, got to hold a monkey!
What are some of your favorite things to do on the weekend?Hanging out in the pool, cooking on the BBQ and playing golf.Working in the yard with my plants and flowers, cooking, entertaining, reading & shopping!
What is your favorite food?Sushi!Seafood or Italian (does peanut butter count??)
What is a future personal goal over the next 5 years?Learn to play the guitarBecome fluent in Spanish
What is one of your most proudest moments in life (besides marrying each other :))When my little brother got married and I was his best man.My first actual gig as a band and getting my current job.
What is one of the funniest things about your husband/wife?Her soft hearted nature...she cries when it makes no sense.... for example, if someone she likes gets picked on one of her favorite TV shows, The Voice...How sweet and sensitive he's become over the years. Every morning he brings me orange juice and my vitamins and has to put eyes and pet all the cats before he leaves for work!
More About Our Family
Things we like to do together

Cook together and take cooking classes, take small weekend trips for a getaway to visit small country towns in Texas, go to festivals and outdoor outings, visit family, work out at the gym, and travel.

Our Faith

We are both Christian and attend a Methodist church a few miles away.
Our children were brought up in faith and still attend church when they can.
We have strong bonds to God and will teach our child the same.

Our Musical Interest

We love all kinds of music, truly! It depends on the mood, the time of year and time of day! Autumn loves Jazz, Pop, Blues, Country, Classical, Alternative Rock, Show Tunes (yes, I know...) and Kevin likes Country, old school Country, Rock, Blues and Alternative & Grunge Rock.

About Our Home

Our home is modest, but nice & warm, light with an open concept. We spend a lot of time outside in the summer reading and lounging in the pool or under the patio.

Autumn love's decorating for the holidays. We have Valentine's decorations, Easter Decorations, St. Patty's day decorations, Halloween Decorations, Autumn/Thanksgiving Decorations and Christmas Decorations, of course.

Hobbies and Interests

Kevin loves doing anything outdoors. He loves to BBQ and has a gas grill and two smokers and is currently working on making homemade sausage with Autumn's dad. He has a garden in the backyard that he looks forward to planting with veggies every year and always tries to find unusual peppers and jalapenos (so he can stuff them and cook them on the grill, of course!). He has an old white Chevy truck that he has had since high school and is working to get it fixed up. He's very close to his little brother and talks to him almost daily. He can't wait for the next time they get to see each other and we always have a "plan" of when we are going to see them the next time.

Autumn definitely has a green thumb! She loves plants, flowers, gardening and fixing up the front beds, pots, and backyard by the pool to make sure the backyard looks like a little oasis. There are always fresh flowers in the house so they can enjoy and in the summer Kevin brings her daisies (her favorite) at least once a month because he knows she loves them. She loves to travel and is always working on planning their next adventure. Autumn volunteers at a "no kill" animal shelter on the weekends and volunteers at events that they host around the City to raise money for the shelter. She donates to the SPCA twice a year and loves to cat sit or dog sit for her parents or friends when needed.
Autumn loves to host and entertain family and friends. She has a "brunch crew" that she started with family and friends and every month a couple hosts a themed Sunday brunch at their homes. She has themed decorations and serving dishes for every occasion.
