A Letter from Brandon & Lakitia
Early in our marriage, we knew adoption was in our family plan. We are thrilled to become first-time parents and feel so blessed to be growing our family through adoption. Your child will be safe, loved, cherished, and supported in all that they do. We will nurture their talents, gifts, and interests while sharing with them our love for sports, traveling, and trying new things. Most of all we will always honor you and share their growth with you through letters, pictures, and visits.
We are native Oklahoman’s who are both military veterans and college graduates. We met in 7th grade and reconnected six years ago and instantly hit it off. We were married four months after reconnecting and have been married five years now! We set goals, work hard, and always make time to have fun together. Some of the things we enjoy doing together include traveling, going to sports games, learning new things, and reading. As parents, we are most looking forward to watching our child grow, develop their personality, learn new things with them, and experiencing life through their eyes. We both enjoy going to family-friendly events and always admire parents having fun with their children and we look forward to those times as a family.
Brandon is kind, gentle, honest, and puts God first. He is extremely intelligent, logical, and calm. I know Brandon will be attentive, affectionate, patient, and actively engaged as a father. Brandon enjoys working out at the gym, playing basketball, watching sports, barbecuing, and taking trips. When we became primary caretakers for our niece and nephews, he taught them to pray, to speak positively about themselves, taught one of them to read, rocked the little one to sleep most nights, read bedtime stories, and played with them often. I know he looks forward to becoming a father and doing all of these things with our child. He is also looking forward to taking them on trips to see and experience different places when they are big enough!
Lakitia is a do it by the book kind of girl. She is meticulous, does extensive research before she dives into anything, and is willing to give you the shirt off her back if needed. She is the hardest working person I have ever known. While caretaking for our niece and nephews for almost half a year, Lakitia would get up at the crack of dawn, cook breakfast, comb hair, and have three small children off to school all while finishing her MBA. I know she will be the best mother to our child. Lakitia enjoys reading, learning new things, gardening/being outdoors, riding horses, decorating, and cooking. When we had our niece and nephews, she enjoyed teaching them new things through gardening and cooking- something she looks forward to teaching our own child. She looks forward to teaching them how much fun learning can be and sharing with them her love for horses.
We see our parents, siblings, and grandparents often. Both of our parents live within 30 minutes of us. Our parents have been begging for a grandchild since the day we married and are extremely excited about our adoption. This will be Brandon’s parent’s first grandchild and Lakitia’s parents’ 7th. Lakitia’s Granny has already crocheted a baby blanket. Every Christmas Granny makes up games for the children to play before they open their gifts. We have a lot of children in our family from age 11 to a newborn. Our little one will be surrounded by cousins and so much family ready to love them.
Our 3 bedroom home is located in Oklahoma in a suburb near an Air Force base where Brandon works. One bedroom is the soon to be nursery and the other bedroom is a guest room. We have plenty of space, both inside and out, to play and have fun as a family. We were both raised in this area and live near the high school we graduated from. We live in a small, safe, and diverse neighborhood within walking distance to a park and an elementary school.
Our greatest blessing will be growing our family while providing unconditional love and support to your child. We promise that your child will be loved unconditionally by us and our family. We promise to give them our very best, to teach them about God’s love, and to be kind. We will be transparent and honor you in the way that you feel most comfortable with. Your child will know how loved they are by all of us. Thank you for taking the time to learn about us. We look forward to getting to know you!

More About Our Family
We met when Brandon was in the 7th grade and Lakitia was in the 8th grade. We had a home economics class together. Knowing each other from our childhood made it easy for us when we began dating because we knew each other's character.
We are Christians and our faith is a very important part of our lives. We go to church on Sundays and when our schedule permits we go to bible study on Wednesdays. We often read Christian inspired books about keeping a healthy marriage.
Our Musical Interest
We enjoy listening to everything from Hip Hop to classical music. We mostly listen to hip hop, R&B, and Gospel.
About Our Home
We live in Oklahoma in a suburb near an Air Force base in a three-bedroom house. We have a small back yard and patio space that we like to enjoy when the weather permits. We have two wonderful dogs! Buloo is our four-year-old American Bully. He is what they call a pocket bully which means he is small. He is spoiled rotten, loves popcorn and strawberries, and is a big snuggler. He loves kids especially our nieces and nephews. Roxy is our thirteen-year-old dachshund. Roxy is a country girl at heart. We adopted her from Lakitia's grandmother when her grandfather passed away last year. She loves to be wrapped up and tucked into her blanket at bedtime. Her favorite foods are anything that we accidentally spill or drop on the floor.
Brandon's parents live less than a mile away and Lakitia's parents live within 30 minutes. Brandon's father can be found on the golf course before he goes to work in the morning and on Saturday's weather permitting. Brandon's mother helps care for her 99-year-old mother. Lakitia's father is a high school basketball and cross country coach and is pretty busy with that during the season. Otherwise, he can be found on his farm with his cows, horses, and vegetable garden. Her mother often helps with her grandchildren while they do distance learning due to COVID.

We live in Oklahoma in a suburb near a military base. Most of our family lives 30 minutes or less from us. We were both raised in this area and live near the high school we graduated from. Oklahoma has grown from a sleepy place to a city with farmer markets, live music, and many other things to do. We stay near an Air Force base where Brandon works as an aircraft mechanic. We have a small, diverse neighborhood. We have a mix of young and older individuals in our community with a variety of ethnicities.
We live in a small, safe, and friendly neighborhood. Many of the families around us are military or retired military and we have a close relationship with several of them. Our neighborhood is within walking distance to a park, elementary school, and we are just a five-minute drive from downtown.
